Dish Pro Plus Lnb Installation

Posted on  by admin

Hey guys, I have a Dish Pro quad LNBF feeding two 625 dual receiver DVRs and the setup has served me well for about 7 years. There are 4 cables running from the quad LNBF: 2 to each DVR. I need to upgrade the RG6 running to one of the DVRs – the stuff in place now is probably close to 20 years old and is quality - it's original cable from my old C and Ku band dish system.

Connect a coaxial connection from the LNBF output (Port 1, Port 2, or Port 3) to the DISH Pro Plus Triplexer or DISH Pro Plus Separator Input. You must use a DISH Pro Plus Triplexer or DISH Pro Plus Separator to achieve a single-coaxial connection installation with a dual-tuner receiver. The DISH Pro Plus Twin functions the same as a DISH Pro Twin LNBF when connected to any DISH Pro Plus switch.

My reception is getting dicey – I’m probably lucky it works at all. This seems like a good time to convert from dual wire to single wire to the DVRs.

I’m a little confused on how to do this. The DVR end of the cabling is pretty straightforward: run the cable into a separator and attach the separator to the 2 receiver inputs of the DVR. It’s the LNBF end I’m confused about. How do I make that connection? Do I need to upgrade to a Dish Pro Plus quad LNBF? Or can/should I use my existing LNBF with a switch? Thanks, Steve.
