I simply love Jewelry Designer Manager!!! It is wonderful software, super user-friendly and does it all you would require for your business from inventory management to barcoding to making beautiful line sheets and invoices & memo with images. Free, interactive tool to quickly narrow your choices and contact multiple vendors. Retail jewelry software with inventory control, accounts payable, point of sale and accounting. Jewelry store management software that features inventory integration, an appraisal generator, and intuitive photo capturing function.
Although I don’t work with raw materials, and most of my components are already made, I use Jewelry Designer Manager and is very happy with it. It will calculate what each piece cost to make and what price you may want to sell it as wholesale, retail etc., depending on how much of a markup you want. It can create a lot of different reports, depending on what version you get. I have had it for a few years now, starting out with the Standard but just recently upgraded to Pro.
You can catalog your inventory and with uploading pictures of your finished pieces you can create a catalog for your potential buyers, Before you make a decision, I suggest to compare the two. This is what I did and found that Jewelry Designer Manager was better for me. anonymous says. I have Bead Manager Pro and every time I try to use it I run into some issue for which I need customer service. The usual reply is to go watch a tutorial I’ve already watched. Then I get frustrated and give up and then 6 months later try again. The same thing happens and the cycle repeats.
I still haven’t got my inventory into it. It is currently in Excel and though they say you can import your stuff from Excel into BMP, it is virtually impossible. If you just start from the beginning and hand enter every item into the system, it might be useful. I only bought it because it was the only bead software that worked on a Mac. Beware of the less than helpful customer service. Michelle says. I bought a jewelry cost calculator from Eni Oken ($5 when I bought it).
This made pricing and tracking what went into the item very easy. For my inventory (raw supplies and completed items) I use separate Excel books and worksheets. There IS a way to reference costs and everything to make various cells in the sheets auto-update when changes are madebut that’s too much work right now for me.
I’m considering “upgrading” to a software package though. It’s getting to the point where the cost of the software may just equal the cost of labor spent on the Excel sheets! I’ve been using Bead Manager Pro for about 5 years and am ready to jumpship in 2016!!! Just like anonymous said there have been so many issues and there is NO ONE to talk to. They’re in AUSTRALIA and only communicate by email which is 12 or more hours delayed because of the time difference.
They refuse to communicate by phone for any reason! Their response is ALWAYS to check one of their tutorial videos, send a camera/page shot or video showing the problem. I can’t even begin to figure out how to do this or understand their videos.
There is always something missing from their respose. So you need to resend and wait, again and sometimes again. I have 2 issues that I have been dealing with for 2 years because I can’t understand or follow thier instructions. I’ve just been living with them and working around the.
In addition there are many gaps in the program regarding US tax needs. It is great if you just want to keep track of your inventory, price your finished pieces and there are a few helpful reorts you can run.
You can also insert photos of parts and finished pieces. There is no place to keep track of tools, office supplies, display purchases etc. So I have an excell spread sheet for those types of things as well as tax info, show sales, tax collected, booth & jury fees all the other items you need to keep track of for the business. I’m looking for something that can do it all. I’m even ready to do all the tedious, miniscule, time consuming work to transfer 5-1/2 years of collecting if I can just simplify my life with it. I’m probably dreaming that there is something out there that someone has created to meet all the needs. If you know of a good program I’d love to hear about it!
Sorry for my lengthy diatribe. I think you get my feeling for Bead Manager Pro. Sallie L Baldwin says. I have been using Bead Manager Pro for about a year. I agree about the customer service.
I have sent 3 emails in the last 3 days and have not heard back from them at all. My computer crashed and I need to reinstall the software. I did read on the website that you can only install the software on two computers or 2 times on one computer, so I am afraid that I might be out of luck with regard to reinstalling it on my laptop.
Just venting. I am thinking about just dumping them and going to a different software program. Latrecia says. I went with Bead Manager Pro and have had no end of problems with it also. I changed to a new computer, and now it is completely useless – and tech support, even from the owner, has been considerably less than helpful.
I’m now looking for another program, even if it doesn’t do all of the same things, because this is just impossible. Unfortunately, I think that Design Manager is still PC only, and I’ve never been able to get Parallels or Bootcamp or whatever to work properly on my laptop. I am now looking at Craftybase, but it seems to be missing a lot of features, and while I like the idea of it being accessible from everywhere, and platform-independent, I don’t like the model of “renting” software monthly. If you decide to quit using it, your work is essentially gone, not to mention that being stuck paying monthly forever gets way more expensive than just buying the product you want!. Wendy says. I use Bead Manager Pro and randomly it stops printing my invoices. I like the inventory side of it but like other comments, struggle with their customer service side of things.
Currently I have exceeded my installation again and need to reset again and then a local reset and it goes on and on and on Have put a lot of data into my software since last back up (which I do every two days) but blitzed it last night and looks like I will lose it all. Would love to look at other systems but dread to think of transferring it onto another database. Thinking I may have wasted not only my money but my time.

When it works it is really ok but it is when it doesn’t that it gets sooooo frustrating.
